The project invites collaboration and investment in an open design of TEV infrastructure. TEV is a design for compact, electrically powered highways for use by electric vehicles with autonomous driving capability. This includes private cars, public transportation, shared transportation and light freight. The electric roadways are designed for rubber tired electric vehicles which can travel on TEV’s electric highways at much higher speeds and in far greater safety than cars can on motorways today. Automatic control enables close-coupling of vehicles so TEV has a vastly greater passenger carrying capacity than traditional roads and even high speed commuter trains.

![]() Dr.Tichakorn Wongpiromsarn Principal Research Scientist, nuTonomy, Singapore Keynote: "Autonomous Vehicles for Mobility on Demand" The DARPA Urban Challenge competition has sparked considerable attention in autonomous vehicles not only from the research community but also from the industry and public. Since then, the technology has been continuously further developed and shown great promises as a potential alternative to current transportation options. NuTonomy, a startup that spun out of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has joined the race against a number of rivals to deploy autonomous vehicles. We are currently working with Singapore to utilize autonomous vehicles as shared resources in Mobility on Demand (MoD) systems.
![]() Prof. Yoichi Hori Department of Advanced Energy, University of Tokyo, Japan and President of World EV Association and President of EV Association of Asia-Pacific Closing Talk "Novel Car Society based on Dynamic Wireless Power Transfer" 'Motor', 'Capacitor' and 'Wireless' will be the key technologies for cars 100 years later, instead of 'Engine', 'Battery' and 'Quick charge'. Future cars will be driven by electric motors, but we still have lots of problems in energy supply. Why are electric vehicles supposed to be charged with 'stopped', in a 'short time', and by ‘big energy’, even though the energy form of electricity is completely different from that of gasoline. Wireless power transfer during parking is ready to be commercialized, however, wireless power transfer during driving requires completely different technologies. It can not be realized so easily, but there are some hints. Finally, I will also introduce the wireless in-wheel motor electric vehicle under development. ![]() If you would prefer not to receive emails, you may ⊗ unsubscribe @2018 UBM Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
